Bali Trip Water Rafting

Morning Excitement and a Beautiful Drive

The day started very early. The sun was just waking up. A car came to pick me up from my hotel. The driver was a very friendly man named Wayan. He smiled a lot. He said, “Good morning! Ready for fun today?”

I said, “Yes, but a little nervous!”

Wayan laughed. “Don’t worry. It is very safe. And so beautiful.”

The drive was lovely. We passed by green, green rice fields. We saw small temples on the side of the road. The air felt fresh and cool. Wayan told me stories about Bali. I felt so happy and excited at my first day on my Bali Trip.

Arriving at the River Base

After about an hour, we arrived at the place. It was called the river base. It was built on the side of a big hill. I had to walk down many, many steps. The steps were surrounded by huge trees and pretty plants. I could already hear the sound of the river below. It sounded like a soft roar.

At the bottom, I saw the Ayung River! The water was not blue. It was a cool, muddy brown color. That is because it flows through the rich, earthy soil of the jungle. It looked strong and powerful.

I met my rafting guide. His name was Gede. He had a big, warm smile. He made me feel safe right away. Gede gave me a life jacket. He also gave me a helmet. Safety first!

He showed me how to hold the paddle. “Hold it like this,” he said. “When I say ‘forward’, we paddle forward. When I say ‘back paddle’, we paddle backward. Easy!”

My group had six people. There was a family from Australia. We all introduced ourselves. And we were all a little nervous but ready for adventure. Also we carried our big, blue raft to the water. The Bali Trip water rafting adventure was about to begin!

The Incredible Jungle Ride

We pushed the raft into the river. I could feel the cold water amazingly on my feet. And the sun was warm on my skin. We started with some easy paddling. Gede was at the back of the raft. He was the captain.

I noticed something at first. It was the sound of the water. Not like the sounds of the city. Here, at the river, all I could hear was the water. Moreover, birds were singing beautiful songs in the trees. Altogether, it was so peaceful.

Then, Gede shouted, “Get ready! First rapid ahead!”

I held my paddle tight. The raft went down a small waterfall. We bounced and splashed! Then the cold water sprayed all over us. Everyone screamed! But surely, it was a happy scream! Yes, we all laughed so hard.

That was just the beginning of our water rafting. The river had many rapids. Some were small and bumpy. Some were bigger and more exciting. Gede was an expert. He guided our raft perfectly around big rocks. He knew the river like the back of his hand.

Between the rapids, the river was calm. This was the best time to look around. The views were unbelievable. We were floating through a deep, green canyon. The walls were covered in thick jungle. I saw pretty waterfalls falling down the rocks. It felt like I was in a movie.

Gede pointed to the canyon walls. “Look there!” he said. We saw amazing carvings in the stone. There were stories of gods and demons. It was like an open air art gallery. This water rafting Bali Trip was so special.

Splash Fights and New Friends

The best part was the people. At first, we were all strangers. But after the first big rapid, we became a team. We had to work together. When Gede said “Forward!”, we all paddled as hard as we could.

During the calm parts, we started to have a talk and joking each other. Among us, the kids were having the best time. Then, a fun thing happened. Another raft came near us. Gede shouted, “Splash attack!”

We all used our paddles to splash water at the other raft! They splashed us back! Then we were all completely wet and laughing until our stomachs hurt. Really, it was so much fun.

The End of the River Journey

After about two hours, the adventure was almost over. I could see the end point ahead. Yet I felt a little sad. Because I didn’t want it to end. We paddled to the river bank. We got out of the raft. My arms were a little tired, but my heart was full of joy.

We had to walk up many steps to get to the top. It was a good little workout after sitting in the raft. At the top, a surprise was waiting for us. There was a nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the valley.

The best part? A delicious buffet lunch was included! I was very hungry after all that paddling. I ate rice, noodles, and fresh fruit. It tasted so good. We all sat together and talked about our favorite parts of the trip. Now we were no longer strangers. We were friends who shared an amazing adventure.
