What to do in Lembongan:

• Visit Dream Beach: This is a beautiful, small beach with white sand. The waves are strong, so be careful swimming. But it is perfect for sunbathing. There is a cool warung right on the cliff above it. You can drink a fresh coconut at the beach.

• Walk on the Yellow Bridge: This bright yellow bridge connects Lembongan to Ceningan. You cannot take a car over it. Only scooters and people on foot. It is a famous spot for taking pictures. The water underneath is a clearly blue.

• See the Mangrove Forest: Take a small boat through the quiet mangrove trees. Moreover, it is so peaceful. You will see little crabs and birds. Therefore, it is a nice break from the sun.

• Watch the Sunset at Devil’s Tear: This is a must-do! Devil’s Tear is not a beach. In fact, it is a rocky cliff. You can see when the big waves crash againts the rocks, it makes a huge splash. Therefore, sometimes you can see a rainbow in the spray. In addition, the sunset here is magical.

Nusa Ceningan: The Tiny Blue Island

Cross the Yellow Bridge and you are on Ceningan. This island is very small. You can explore it all in a few hours. Ceningan is famous for its bright blue water. This comes from the seaweed farms. The water looks like a swimming pool!

What to do in Ceningan:

• Jump into the Blue Lagoon: This is the most famous spot on Ceningan. It is a cove with unbelievably blue water. The cliffs around it are high. Many people love to jump off the cliffs into the water. Only do this if you are a strong swimmer and the waves are calm.

• Visit Secret Beach: This is a little beach hidden away. You need to walk down some steps to find it. It is quiet and perfect for a swim. The sand is soft and white.

• Ride Along the Coast: The best thing to do on Ceningan is just to ride a scooter. The road along the coast has amazing views. You will see the blue water on one side and green hills on the other.

Nusa Penida: The Wild Giant

Nusa Penida is the biggest island of the three. It feels wild and untouched. The roads are bumpy and the cliffs are very high. The views here are epic. They will make you say “wow!” out loud. You need more time here, maybe two days.

What to do in Penida (West Side):

• Kelingking Beach: This is the most famous view in Bali. It looks like a T-Rex dinosaur! You will see a huge cliff shaped like a dinosaur’s head. You can walk down to the beach at the bottom. The walk is very steep and tough. It takes about 45 minutes down. Remember, you have to walk back up! But the beach is like a hidden paradise.

• Angel’s Billabong & Broken Beach: These two spots are next to each other. Angel’s Billabong is a natural infinity pool. When the tide is low, you can swim in it. Broken Beach is a giant hole in the cliff. The ocean water flows inside through a natural archway. You can walk all the way around the top.

What to do in Penida (East Side):

• Diamond Beach: This beach is new to tourists. You walk down amazing white stone steps cut into the cliff. The beach has huge diamond-shaped rocks. That is how it got its name. It is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen.

• Atuh Beach: Right next to Diamond Beach, you can also visit Atuh. It has a great view from the top. You can see the beautiful coastline from here.

Important Tips for Your Bali Trip

• How Long to Go? I suggest three days. Spend one day on Lembongan and Ceningan. Then, spend two days exploring Penida.

• How to Get Around? The best way is to rent a scooter. It is cheap and fun. If you cannot ride a scooter, you can hire a private driver. This is a good idea for Penida because the roads are big.

• Where to Stay? Lembongan has the most hotels and guesthouses. It is a good “home base.” But staying on Penida is also a great adventure.

• What to Bring? Sunscreen! A hat. Good shoes for walking. A lot of water. And a good camera. The islands are very sunny.

• Be Careful: Always check the ocean before you swim. The currents can be very strong. Do not go too close to the cliff edges. The rocks can be slippery.
