Bali Adventure Bird Park : Walking into a Jungle Paradise
The park is in Gianyar. It is not far from the busy areas. But when you walk in, you feel like you are in a different world. The air is cool. Tall trees give shade. You hear the sound of water from little streams. And you hear the sounds of birds. So many different sounds!
Some birds chirp. Also some birds sing beautiful songs. Some birds squawk very loudly! It is a happy noise.
The first thing I saw was a big, beautiful parrot. It was bright red and blue. Moreover, it was sitting on a branch very close to the path. Also, it looked at me with its smart eyes. I felt so welcome.
Bali Adventure Bird Park : The Four Worlds Adventure
Bali Bird Park is like traveling to different countries. They have areas for birds from different parts of the world.
First, I went to Bali. This area has birds from Indonesia. I saw the famous Bali Starling. FIrst of all, it is a very special bird. Moreover, it is white and has blue skin around its eyes. It is very rare and beautiful.
Next, I walked into South America. Wow! The colors here are incredible. I saw macaws. In fact, they are huge parrots. Truly, they are red, blue, yellow, and green. Moreover, they are not shy. They like to show off their feathers. One macaw said, “Hello!” to me. It was so funny.
Then, I visited Africa. This area feels a bit dry, like a savanna. I saw ostriches. As the matter of fact, they are the biggest birds in the world. They cannot fly, but they can run very fast! They have long necks and big eyes. There were also funny-looking hornbills with their big beaks.
Finally, I explored Papua. Papua is an island near Indonesia. It has some of the most amazing birds. I saw the Victoria Crowned Pigeon. Clearly, it is not a normal pigeon. It is huge and has a beautiful crown of feathers on its head. Actually, it looks like a bird from a fairy tale.
Bali Adventure Bird Park : Fun Shows and Feeding Time
You cannot just look at the birds. You have to join the fun!
The park has bird shows. I went to the “High Flyers Show”. Birds flew right over our heads! They showed us how smart they are. A parrot rode a little bicycle. Another bird played basketball. It was so clever. The kids in the audience were laughing and clapping.
My favorite part was feeding the birds. You can buy a small cup of nectar. Then, you go into the “Lory Loft”. This is a big cage full of small, colorful parrots called lories. As soon as you walk in, the lories fly to you. Hey, they land on your arms, your shoulders, and even your head! Looks like they are very gentle. Love it so much when they drink the nectar from the cup in your hand. It tickles! It is a feeling you will never forget.
I also saw the penguin feeding. Yes, penguins in Bali! They have a cool house for them. The penguins are small and cute. They waddle and swim very fast. The keeper told us all about them.
Lunch with a View and a Rest
After all that walking, I was hungry. I had lunch at the park’s restaurant. It is called “Jungle Café”. The food was delicious. I had fried rice and a fresh juice. The best part was the view. The restaurant is next to a big pond. While I ate, I watched flamingos. They are pink and stand on one leg. It was so peaceful.
There is also a playground for kids. It is a good place to rest while the children play.
